It’s back for a second year! The 2026 Pecos Sunflower Art Contest is underway. Deadline for entry is Friday, September 4.

EARLY BIRD DEADLINE: Drop off on AUGUST 31 and save $5

All artworks must be display-ready to qualify for the exhibit. If its a 2D paper work of art we recommend it is framed or mounted with hanging hardware. We have a limited number of pedestals for 3D works, please let us know if you’ll be needing one. All works must be display ready; this means we ask that you have your work in a frame, mounted on a supportive backing, or otherwise intentionally and reasonably ready to show.

As always, entries must reflect some aspect or celebration of the Pecos Sunflower. They do not have to be figurative, literal, or otherwise definitive, but you may be asked to defend your work.

Each entry has a $10 fee, which you will pay when you drop off your artwork. Artwork drop off begins Monday, August 31. If you bring your work(s) on this day (August 31) you will receive a 50% discount on entry fees. Absolute deadline to enter is 7pm on September 4.

Prize Categories:

Each artist will need to choose a category to submit to. $100 Cash prizes will be awarded to the top scoring piece in each of these six categories:

  • Painting

  • Drawing

  • Mixed Media

  • Photography

  • 3D Design (wood/metal/fabric/edible/etc)

  • Graphic/Computer Design (no AI)

There will also be a “judges choice” award for each of the judges to award.

There will be a zero tolerance policy on artwork that is AI informed, created or otherwise tampered with.
