What Are ‘First Fridays?’

“First Fridays” are a 100% free, family friendly event that Circa Gallery has been hosting in downtown Santa Rosa since June 2025. Conceptually the “First Fridays” event began decades ago in cities across America as a way of encouraging people to visit their downtown areas, particularly art galleries. It is an evening of community, art, shopping, dining, and networking.

Why Are We Doing This?

We created Santa Rosa Community Arts (SRCA) because we believe that a community thrives when it has access to Art. Making it, seeing it, just having it in the vicinity leads to a thriving community.  We also believe that opportunities to be entertained, to network, to socialize should not always come with a price tag. There should be no barrier to entry, financial or otherwise, to restrict who participates and finds themselves in the fabric of the city. “First Fridays” is SRCA’s work to bring about societal growth, to create space for makers and vendors, to create memories for the youth of Santa Rosa. The people are already here, the art is already here. We are bringing it out and giving it a spotlight and saying: This. This is the kind of place we want to celebrate and you belong here.
